Intended Parents

Advocates for Surrogacy has developed a program designed to provide services that meet the myriad of issues involved in a surrogacy arrangement. We provide expert guidance through your entire journey to parenthood through surrogacy. Our team is dedicated to helping you achieve your dream of becoming a parent – whether you are gay, straight, married or single, living in the United States or abroad. The reasons for choosing surrogacy are many and varied. Some of you seek surrogacy because your dream is to have a child who is genetically related to you. Some of you are gay or lesbian and feel that surrogacy is the best option. Some of you choose surrogacy because you want to have more involvement with the entire process of becoming a parent than adoption cannot offer. With surrogacy, you control the process with our expert project management guidance and consultation from selection of surrogates that we have thoroughly vetted psychologically, through home visits, criminal and financial background checks, and financially through selection of clinics where medical procedures will take place. The process is controlled from conception through prenatal care and finally, delivery.

We also offer a Guatemala Program that is substantially lower in costs than domestic surrogacy. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive package of services that includes expert consultation, oversight, and risk management to make this journey as positive and stress-free as possible. You can approach this incredible journey with confidence knowing that you have a dedicated team of professionals supporting and advising you all the way. The list of services our team provides is extensive and includes:

Program Overview

You will receive an introductory no-cost consultation either personally in our corporate offices located in beautiful Miami or via video conference. During this meeting, we introduce you to the entire process, what you can expect, answer your questions and address your concerns. You will meet with our management team including our Director, Candace O’Brien, an attorney; our Director of Psychological Care, Dr. Robert Hernandez; and Esther Rodriguez, our Director of Case Management.

Once you are ready to begin, we will carefully review the myriad of issues that will guide the matching process between you and an egg donor (when applicable to your situation)and selection of a Surrogate. Whether the issues involve legal concerns, psychological and therapeutical issues or process issues, you will be guided by our expert management staff.

After you have selected a surrogate and/or egg donor, we begin the legal and medical phase of the surrogacy process. Because laws of each state differ, we will provide consultation on the best path to achieving your goal in the most efficient and smooth manner. We will conduct a meeting with the Intended Parent(s) and Surrogate to discuss in detail the various issues that must be addressed, understood and agreed to by all parties. We will draft an Agreement which sets forth the issues discussed for review by separate legal counsel. Once the Agreement has been finalized, the medical process begins. We will assist you in identifying top notch clinics, coordinate the medical and preparatory procedures between Intended Parents, Surrogates and Egg Donors (if applicable).

You and your surrogate will receive professional counseling throughout the process as well as intervention counseling, as needed.

Your assigned Case Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day issues to ensure a smooth process.
